Review of Bible Promises to Live by for Women
This is my very first review for Tyndale Book Network. I’m excited to share my opinion on this little pocket-sized book called Bible Promises to Live by for Women by Katherine Butler.
This book is about God’s promises. Knowing that His Word endures we can continue to rest on these promises. Katherine Butler has chosen over 500 promises from the Bible to share. In her introduction she explains how these were chosen to fit women and their needs. Such as women in hardship, or feeling anxious; but also, in blessings and good times. Katherine challenges us to consider what life would look like if we believed all of God’s promises. Would we be more confident, less fearful? What if it changed our worldview and purpose? A great challenge of the mind.
This book is so cute with its pocket-sized nature. As you can see from the picture it is very small and can easily be carried around in a purse or backpack for reference. I myself had it in my purse for awhile before I finally got the chance to sit down and write about it. The book is well organized by topic in alphabetical order. This makes it an easy reference since you can look in the table of contents by topic or flip through and easily decide where you want to be. The author encourages meditation on God’s Word and thinking through each of these promises for our lives which is great.
The teal color and patterned pages between topics are lovely. The script font is both beautiful and legible. Overall, I think this is a nice little book. I think it would make a great gift for someone or yourself. I think its style and purpose are clear and the focus on God’s Word and the numerous verses in each section are awesome.
In summary, this is a nice reference book. Firstly, it has a nice mission behind it. Secondly, it uses God’s Word to share His promises; and third, it is practical and covers good, relevant topics. This book styled well and small and can easily be carried with you and read through and thought through. Overall, I liked this book and am excited to review more books with Tyndale in the future.
